Rioja Joins the Celebration of Art and Collecting with ARTNews
On September 18, Rioja was honored to be part of a night celebrating creativity, culture, and community as ARTnews unveiled its 2025 Top 200 Collectors issue.
Hosted at the newly opened Faena New York in Chelsea, the ARTNews event gathered some of the world’s most renowned art collectors, curators, and patrons for an evening of elegance and inspiration.

The celebration was cohosted by Beth Rudin DeWoody and Miyoung Lee, both trustees of the Whitney Museum of American Art and fixtures of the contemporary art world. In her remarks, DeWoody shared her optimism about the future of collecting:
“
“I think this is a great time for people to collect… a great time for young collectors to come into the market.”

A Night of Art, Music, and Fine Taste
Guests gathered in Faena’s Living Room, surrounded by the color and vibrancy of Keith Haring’s 1983 Montreux Jazz Festival painting and views of the High Line. The evening featured a special performance by pianist and composer Arsha Kaviani, as well as curated experiences from LOUIS XIII, Xerjoff, and Rioja wines.
ARTNews attendees were invited to explore wines from across the Rioja region — a fitting tribute to a night dedicated to artistic excellence and craftsmanship.
As ARTnews Editor-in-Chief Sarah Douglas noted, the event was more than a celebration of collectors — it was a celebration of passion, creativity, and the enduring spirit of those who bring art to life.
Miyoung Lee echoed the sentiment of the evening, emphasizing the essential role of artists as visionaries and truth-tellers, “Artists are, to my mind, the last line of defense. Keep up the good fight.”
